Refund Policy
Please read our refund and cancellation policy carefully before booking an event with Spooky Paranormal Investigations Ltd.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
1.1 Cancellation by You (the Participant)
All bookings are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable, except where Refund Protection has been purchased (see section 1.3).
By completing a booking, you explicitly agree that:
- Your ticket is for a specific date, time, and venue.
- Your inability to attend does not entitle you to a refund.
- This applies to all circumstances, including (but not limited to): illness, personal commitments, travel disruption, vehicle breakdown, delays, or any unforeseen events.
You acknowledge that:
- Our venues and operational costs are committed in advance based on confirmed bookings.
- Your ticket represents a reserved place that cannot be resold once allocated.
Transfer to a Third Party
You may transfer your ticket to another person if:
- The booking has been paid in full.
- You provide the new participant’s name and contact details at least 24 hours before the Event.
We:
- Do not facilitate resale.
- Accept no liability for private arrangements between parties.
No Refunds for Non-Attendance or Early Departure
Failure to attend, late arrival, or leaving an Event early for any reason will be treated as full use of the service, and no refund will be issued.
1.2 Cancellation by Us (the Company)
We may cancel or reschedule Events due to:
- Circumstances beyond our control (including venue issues or unsafe conditions).
- Insufficient bookings.
If we cancel an Event, you will be offered:
- A full refund, or
- A transfer to another Event, or
- A credit note (valid for 12 months).
Refunds will be processed within 14 days.
Rescheduled Events
Where an Event is rescheduled and your booking can still be honoured, this will be considered fulfilment of the original contract, and refunds may not be offered.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Travel costs.
- Accommodation.
- Loss of earnings.
- Any indirect or consequential losses.
1.3 Refund Protection (Provided by XCover)
Refund Protection is an optional service available at checkout.
By purchasing Refund Protection, you agree that:
- The policy is provided by XCover, a separate third-party provider.
- All claims must be submitted directly to XCover.
- All decisions are made solely by XCover under their terms.
Spooky Paranormal Investigations Ltd:
- Does not handle, assess, or approve claims.
- Does not issue refunds under Refund Protection.
- Will not provide a refund if a claim is declined.
Any disputes must be raised directly with XCover.
If Refund Protection is not purchased, no refund will be issued outside of section 1.2.
1.4 Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
By completing your booking, you agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute except where:
- There has been a genuine unauthorised transaction, or
- We have failed to deliver the booked Event.
For the avoidance of doubt:
- Non-attendance, personal circumstances, or failure to meet Refund Protection claim criteria do not constitute valid grounds for a chargeback.
- An Event that takes place as scheduled (or is reasonably rescheduled) is considered fully delivered.
In the event of a chargeback or dispute, we reserve the right to provide:
- Booking confirmations.
- Attendance records.
- Communication logs.
- Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions at checkout as evidence to the payment provider.
Where a chargeback is found to be unjustified or fraudulent, we reserve the right to:
- Recover the disputed amount.
- Recover any associated fees or administrative costs.
- Restrict or refuse future bookings.
1.5 Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
However, by booking, you confirm that:
- You have read and accepted these terms.
- You understand the non-refundable nature of the service.
- You accept that attendance is your responsibility unless Refund Protection has been purchased.
