Find answers about bookings, preparing for an event, age, accessibility, equipment, photography, paranormal investigation and guest conduct.

Booking & Tickets

How do I book an event?

Choose an event on the Upcoming Events page, read the Event Detail page, then select Book Securely to complete checkout through Ticket Tailor.

Are bookings secure?

Yes. Ticket checkout and online payment are handled securely through Ticket Tailor and its supported payment providers.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. You can normally show your Ticket Tailor confirmation on your phone. Keep your booking details available in case the team needs to check them.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

A fully paid ticket may be transferred to another person provided SPI receives the required replacement-attendee details at least 24 hours before the Event. The replacement attendee must meet all applicable Event requirements, and the transfer is not complete until SPI confirms the change. Transfer requests received less than 24 hours before the Event will not be accepted. Read the Cancellation, Refund & Ticket Transfer Policy for full details.

What happens if an event sells out?

Where Ticket Tailor offers a waiting list, use the link on the Event Detail page. Joining the waiting list does not reserve or guarantee a ticket.

Do you offer refunds?

Tickets are sold for a specific event and date, so there is no automatic refund if you cannot attend. Contact SPI before cancelling and read the Cancellation, Refund & Ticket Transfer Policy.

Before Your Event

Where are the events held?

SPI events take place at historic and unusual venues. Browse Upcoming Events for current locations and open an Event Detail page for the venue address and travel information.

What time do events start and finish?

Times vary. The Event Detail page and your booking confirmation show the authoritative start, arrival and finish information for your event.

Is parking available?

Parking, arrival and meeting-point information varies by venue. Check the individual Event Detail page and any event update sent before you travel.

What happens if I'm late?

If you know in advance that you may be late, please contact SPI as soon as possible. Messages sent on the day of the Event may not be seen before the investigation begins. Where venue arrangements allow, SPI will normally allow approximately 15 minutes for late arrivals, but admission cannot be guaranteed once the Event is underway.

Can I bring food and drinks?

You may bring food and non-alcoholic drinks where the venue permits. Check the Event Detail page because facilities and venue rules vary.

Are tea and coffee provided?

SPI generally provides tea and coffee, but facilities vary by venue. Event-specific information will explain any different arrangement.

Can I leave early?

Yes, but please tell an SPI host before leaving so the team can keep an accurate record of who remains at the venue. Under-18 attendees must leave with their supervising parent or person with parental responsibility.

Age & Accessibility

What is the minimum age to attend?

Standard SPI paranormal investigation events are normally 18+. Selected suitable Events may permit guests aged 12–17 where this is clearly stated for that Event. Children under 12 are not permitted to attend any SPI Event. See Age Requirements at SPI Events for full details.

Do you run junior or family-friendly investigations?

SPI primarily runs adult paranormal investigation events. Selected suitable Events may permit guests aged 12–17, and this will be clearly stated for the individual Event. Where permitted, under-18 attendees take part in the ordinary mixed-age Event with their supervising parent or person with parental responsibility. Children under 12 are not permitted at SPI Events.

Are events accessible?

Accessibility varies because many events take place in historic and unusual venues. Event Detail pages provide the known venue-specific information. Contact SPI before booking if you need further detail or a reasonable adjustment, and read Accessibility at SPI Events.

Equipment & What To Bring

Will food or drinks be provided?

SPI generally provides tea and coffee. Guests may bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks where the venue permits. Check the Event Detail page for specific facilities and restrictions.

Do I need to own paranormal investigation equipment?

No. SPI provides investigation equipment for guests to use during the event and our team will explain how it is used. You are also welcome to bring your own equipment if you wish.

What should I wear?

Wear warm layers and flat, sturdy footwear suitable for dark spaces, stairs and uneven historic surfaces. Check the Event Detail page for venue-specific advice.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring a reliable torch, warm clothing and sensible footwear. Food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought where the venue permits. Your own investigation equipment is optional.

Can I bring my own paranormal equipment?

Yes. You may bring your own equipment, but it remains your responsibility and its use must follow venue rules and the host’s safety instructions. SPI also supplies equipment for guests to use.

Photography & Filming

Can I take photos or videos?

Personal photography may be allowed where it is safe, lawful and permitted by the venue. Respect other guests’ privacy and any no-recording areas. Read Photography & Filming at SPI Events for full details.

Paranormal Investigation

What happens on a paranormal investigation event?

After you check in with the SPI team, the evening normally includes a welcome and safety briefing, small investigation groups, equipment guidance, rotating sessions and a final discussion. Exact arrangements vary by venue.

Can I attend on my own?

Yes. Many guests attend alone, and the SPI team will help you settle into an investigation group.

Do I need previous experience?

No. SPI events welcome first-time and experienced investigators. The team explains the equipment and supports guests throughout.

Do I have to take part in every activity?

No. Tell a host if you do not feel comfortable taking part in an activity. You must still follow safety instructions and remain within permitted guest areas.

Are paranormal experiences guaranteed?

No. Paranormal activity cannot be guaranteed. Quiet sessions are a normal part of paranormal investigation, and ordinary explanations should also be considered.

Are all SPI venues known to be haunted?

SPI investigates historic and unusual locations selected for their character, history and suitability for paranormal investigation. Some venues also have reported paranormal stories or experiences, but paranormal activity can never be guaranteed.

Are your events staged?

No. SPI is not a haunted attraction. We do not use actors, staged scares or knowingly manufacture paranormal evidence. We aim to run realistic and honest investigations and encourage guests to consider ordinary explanations alongside anything unusual they experience.

Safety & Guest Conduct

What if I feel uncomfortable during the event?

Tell an SPI host. You may stop participating in an activity, take an appropriate break or leave early after informing the team.

Are the events safe?

SPI plans events around venue-specific conditions, provides safety information and expects guests to follow host and venue instructions. Historic venues can still involve darkness, cold, stairs and uneven surfaces.

Can alcohol or drugs be brought to an event?

Alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted at SPI Events. Guests must not attend while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
